Coaching Process

The Real Benefits of 'Leader Support'

Under Australian WHS legislation, psychosocial risk management is a governance priority. Boards and CEOs must demonstrate active oversight, reasonable steps to prevent harm, and evidence of implemented controls. Leadership behaviour is one of the most powerful control measures – and the most scrutinised.

What does this mean?

For the Leader:

  • Greater clarity and composure in high-stakes decisions

  • Increased confidence managing complex people and performance issues

  • Enhanced emotional intelligence, resilience, and sustainable leadership

  • Reduced reactivity in conflict or escalated situations

For their Organisation:

  • Leadership aligned with WHS obligations and psychosocial risk controls

  • Early intervention in emerging hazards and reduced claims risk

  • Improved psychological safety, team performance, and engagement

  • Clear evidence of proactive, defensible leadership practice

‘Leader Support’ ensures leadership capability is developed, embedded, and practiced. This means real-world, defensible action that reduces risk and strengthens organisational performance.

Leadership Coaching FAQs

Leadership coaching is a structured, evidence-based development process that helps leaders strengthen decision-making, emotional intelligence, performance management capability, and influence.

At Get Mentally Fit, leadership coaching is delivered by a qualified workplace psychologist and follows a staged approach – discovery, design, and deployment – ensuring leadership capability is operationalised as a daily practice.

A leadership course typically delivers generalised content to groups. Leadership coaching is personalised and applied directly to your real workplace challenges.

Our program integrates:

  • Psychometric assessment

  • Evidence-based organisational psychology

  • Practical behavioural application

  • Psychosocial risk and WHS alignment

This ensures leadership development translates into measurable behavioural change.

High-performing leaders typically gain:

  • Greater clarity and confidence in decision-making

  • Stronger emotional regulation under pressure

  • Improved ability to manage performance and conflict

  • Increased resilience and sustainable leadership capacity

  • Reduced reactivity in high-pressure situations

Organisations benefit from improved psychological safety, reduced escalation, and stronger defensibility in relation to WHS obligations.

Yes. Many experienced leaders seek coaching not because they lack capability, but because they want sharper decision-making, stronger influence, and better risk oversight.

Leadership coaching supports refinement at executive level – particularly where performance, compliance, and culture intersect.

Under Australian WHS legislation, psychosocial risk management is a governance issue. Leadership behaviour is one of the most powerful risk controls available.

Our leadership coaching strengthens:

  • Early identification of psychosocial hazards

  • Confident intervention before escalation

  • Alignment between WHS policy and daily leadership practice

  • Evidence of proactive risk control capability

This makes coaching a practical component of a defensible WHS strategy.

Leadership training builds knowledge. Executive coaching builds applied behavioural capability.

Coaching focuses on:

  • Real-time workplace challenges

  • Complex people dynamics

  • Governance and compliance decisions

  • Sustainable behavioural change

It is development that translates directly into operational leadership impact.

Yes. Strong leadership capability directly impacts:

  • Team engagement

  • Psychological safety

  • Productivity

  • Retention

  • Innovation

When leaders regulate themselves effectively, teams operate more safely and perform more consistently.

An organisational psychologist brings:

  • Evidence-based behavioural insight

  • Psychometric assessment expertise

  • Understanding of psychosocial risk frameworks

  • Deep knowledge of workplace performance systems

This ensures leadership development is grounded in science – not generic theory.
